I am Nubian from Sudan. With a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Law, Health Policy concentration, and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, my goal is to become a physician and return home to treat my people in Halfa.
I am the Social Media Coordinator for NubiaFEST2020 and one of the co-organizers! I look forward to learning from everyone and unlearning that which is incorrect! I hope you enjoy it!

Vince Bantu is the Ohene of the Meachum School of Haymanot. He is Assistant Professor of Church History and Black Church Studies at Fuller Seminary. He holds an MA and PhD in Semitic and Egyptian languages from the Catholic University of America, an MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary’s Center for Urban Ministerial Education, a Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary and a B.A. in theology from Wheaton College. His primary interests include early Christianity in Africa and Asia.
Dr. Josef Ben Levi, Ed.D is a scholar of ancient and continental Philosophy, classical African civilizations, and African-American Studies, Education, Sociology, Curriculum and Disability Studies. He is also a scholar of ancient Biblical, Ancient Egyptian, Nubian and Gnostic literature. His language facilities include Hebrew, Arabic, and Aramaic, Coptic, Mdw Ntr (ancient Egyptian language), Old Nubian and Ancient Egyptian, Levantine and Mesopotamian history as well as ancient numismatics.
Solange Ashby received her Ph.D. in Egyptology with a specialization in ancient Egyptian language and Nubian religion from the University of Chicago. Her first book, Calling Out to Isis: The Enduring Nubian Presence at Philae, is published by Gorgias Press. Dr. Ashby currently teaches in the Black Studies department at University of Nebraska-Omaha. In January 2021, she will begin teaching at Barnard College’s Department of Classics and Ancient Studies.

After studying Coptology in Goettingen, Germany for five years, I got a post-doc position at Kansai University, Japan. I would like to develop Nubiology in Japan.

I'm currently writing a dissertation on a second-century Greek text, the Shepherd of Hermas, and its language of enslavement and the virtuous life. I also work more broadly on Greek and Coptic texts from the 1st-8th centuries.

I am a cultural anthropologist and documentary filmmaker based in the US. My maternal family is from Kushtmna Sharq, Nubia in Egypt.
Shayla Monroe is a doctoral candidate in Anthropology at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She specializes in faunal analysis, the social zooarchaeology of Sudan and Egypt, the archaeology of ethnicity the ancient Nile Valley, and African pastoralism. Her dissertation analyzes the acquisition of cattle at the ancient Egyptian colonial fortress of Askut (c. 2600 – 1550 BC) and its implications for culture contact and asymmetrical power relations between pastoralists and non-pastoralists.

Yoknyam Dabale is a PhD student at Fuller’s School of Intercultural Studies (SIS). Originally from Northern Nigeria. Her research interests include African Traditional Religions, Abrahamic Religions, race, gender, postcolonialism and environmentalism.She is a scholar-activist. For over a decade, she has dedicated countless hours to volunteer work in underserved Black and Brown communities. Yoknyam has hosted many Pan-African gatherings, cooking and feeding over a thousand people in the U.S.
The Nubian Heritage and Resource Center, an organization based in Kibra, Nairobi. It’s a community center established with the aim of collating all forms of information pertaining to matters that directly or indirectly relate to the Nubian communities of East Africa and making them easily accessible to any interested parties. One of our main activity is the Nubian Souk, a market with a Nubian Cultural Theme designed as a family event. We invite vendors from all over for two specail days, once a year.
K. Eltinaé is a Sudanese poet of Nubian descent, raised internationally as a third culture kid. His work has appeared in World Literature Today, The Ordinary Chaos of Being Human: Many Muslim Worlds (Penguin), The African American Review, About Place Journal, among others. His debut book The Moral Judgement of Butterflies won the Beverly International Prize for Literature. He is also co-winner of the Dignity Not Detention Prize from Poetry International.
Tristan Samuels is a Jamaican Africologist born in Toronto, Canada. He has a B.A. major/minor in History and European Classical Studies and an M.A. in Egyptology. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Africology at Temple University. Tristan's main research interests are: Race and Racism in antiquity, Nile Valley civilizations, Afro-Caribbean Languages, and Afrikan American Ebonics.
Selma is the founder and Managing Director of Marsa Abroad for Experiential Learning, a company that provides non-degree programs for students such as short-term study abroad, intercultural development, volunteering and internships. Selma supervises the design of international programs for intercultural development such as the ones to Sudan, Doha, London, Melbourne, Milan, Singapore and Oman. I love cooking and reading and most important of all is meeting people from different cultural backgrounds.
Dr. Salim Faraji is Professor of Africana Studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He is also the founding Executive Director of the M.A. in International Studies Africa Program at Concordia University Irvine in Ghana, West Africa. He completed his M.Div. at Claremont School of Theology and M.A. and Ph.D. at Claremont Graduate University. He specializes in early Christianity, Africana and Africanist historiography, Coptic Studies & Kerma, Meroitic and Christian periods of Nubian History.

Timothy B. Sailors studies early Christianity and the literature it produced in the first three centuries, including later ancient translations into languages such as Coptic, Arabic, Classical Ethiopic (Gəʿəz), and Old Nubian. Previously a visiting student at the Pontifical Oriental Institute (Rome), he then studied the Old Nubian language at the University of Tübingen prior to beginning his doctorate there. Sailors has recently been elected a member of the International Society for Nubian Studies.

I am a Cultural Anthropologist who conducted fieldwork among the Egyptian Nubians near the town of Aswan. My first book, "The Nubians of West Aswan" and its second edition, "Nubian Women of West Aswan", are ethnographies of village life, with a focus upon the roles and status of the women of the village.
